The Wildlife Rescuer

The Wildlife Rescuer is a voluntary organisation that can only survive with the help of others. As well as financial assistance (donations, fundraising etc), I am always on the look-out for prospective wildlife carers in the South Wales area. You must have experience of caring for animals and have the space, time and dedication to cater for the animal's needs.

The Wildlife Rescuer is an ad hoc service and does not have any animals currently in its care. Volunteers should only get in touch if they are interested in working in a rescue capacity & are willing to buy their own equipment (animal transport box, towels & thick gloves is the basic - this list could grow a lot, dependent on your experience and level of commitment). Although it is planned in future to put together a 'volunteer pack' made up of placement on a training course and equipment, this is not yet a reality due to funds being needed elsewhere.

Fostering Requirements:

• Experience of dealing with animals (wild or domestic) is essential 
• Time and patience - You should have quite a bit of spare time on your hands, the amount needed dependent on the type/age of the animal you foster
• Pets - Not a problem as long as you have the room to keep them separate from the wild animal
• Children - Again, not a problem as long as you ensure that they do not touch or bother the animal (wild animals must remain wild)
• Transport - To be able to carry the necessary equipment so you can react to a potential emergency straightaway

I am also desperately on the lookout for a qualified vet who would be interested in working with wildlife as and when the need arose. This could be during the day or night.

The Wildlife Rescuer, in conjunction with Fright Nights, will be organising a sponsored ghost hunt to raise money for the service. If you would be interested in attending a night of paranormal investigations, including seances, psychic readings and much more, please email me with your:

Places will be limited to just 15 - minimum age is 18 and participants should be in good physical fitness in case there are stairs etc.
